PURPOSE:
The Machine Operator will be requiredto performa set of tasks using machinery.Theyare responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining various machines to ensure theinterminable and efficient running ofproduction.
Machine Operators will need to be reliable and able to workwith attention to detail andsafety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to dothe job better,so theyshould have willingness to learn and improve. Being a teamplayer is essentialsince all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.
The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothlyto maximize efficiency and profits.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and operate tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, walk, stoop or crouch. In addition, some facilities are multi-level and may require ascending or descending stairs.
The employee may occasionally move up to 25 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart, and regularly lift up to 15 pounds of boxes of product, bales of cartons, or rolls of film.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, speak, and write in English. Bilingual capability is a plus.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet be flexible and have the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Multi-shift production operations may be expansive, noisy, wet/humid and vary in temperature from refrigerated environment, ambient or warm in summer months depending on facility.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolongedperiods; frequently walks, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects;occasionally stoops,kneels, crouches, or crawls.The employee frequentlyis required to use manual andfinger dexterityand eye-hand coordination whenworking and handling products,computers or machinery. The employee is subject to assist and support upto 50 poundswith varyingamounts of assistance on aas needed basis.The employee is required tohave corrected visionand hearing within normal range and the ability to operateequipmentif required. The employeemay be exposed to moving mechanical parts andnon-movingmechanical parts.Theemployee could have work conditions that areextremely cold or extremely hot. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes orairborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment isusually loud. What you’ll be doing:
- Perform machine setups (calibration, cleaning etc.) tostart a production cycle
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled orpackaged products to standards.
- Control and adjust the functions and settings of machines (e.g. speed)
- Adjust machine components andmachine tension and pressure according to sizeor processing angle of product.
- Feed the necessary raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
- Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature.
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools to ensure they meet requirements
- Test the operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running
- Fix issues that might occur duringthe shift
- Check output to discover any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur,clear machine jams, and reportmalfunctions to a supervisor or maintenance department.
- Keep records ofapproved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activitylogs
- Proven experience as a machine operator,in previous food relatedmanufacturing required.
- Minimum6 months experience working as a machine operator in food orlike industry.
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurementtools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
- Understanding ofproduction procedures
- Adherence to healthand safety regulations (e.g. constant useofprotective gear)
- Ability to read blueprints (if needed), schematics and manuals
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Teamwork and good communication skills
