ROLE:

Support in the form of fabrication and repair of all production related equipment and tooling associated with the F/K manufacturing facility. Works independently and reports to a Team Leader within the Engineering Department.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Fabricate parts to close tolerance using traditional machine shop methods and equipment
• Provide emergency machine shop service for production component repair or modification
• Provide machine shop service for tooling component repair or modification.
• Provide machine shop service to maintenance team during equipment rebuild including measuring plant production equipment and assistance when fitting close tolerance parts.
• Provide welding, flame and plasma cutting to support machine shop work.
• Must be team-oriented with leadership qualities and capable of leading co-workers in assigned tasks.
• Will be expected to maintain necessary records and established machine shop procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Responsible for additional specific duties related to each shift as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
• Other duties as necessary

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school /GED equivalent required.
• Must provide acceptable documentation indicating formal machine shop training provided by a technical school or state certification in this job classification or provide documentation that indicates at least 6 years as a practicing machinist in a general machine shop environment.
• Must be able to read and use precision type instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Must be able to read technical drawings.
• Speaking and presentation skills to conduct effective meetings
