This is an all-encompassing role that is engaged with designing, implementing, managing and supporting structured training for the field to increase efficiency and accuracy in shop related processes. This role will manage a team of regionalized field support personnel to assist in day to day functions around parts procurement, inventory control, vendor statement/invoicing needs and other functions of shop/vendor related processes. This role will also be involved with decision making related to performance measuring tools. This role is also responsible for routine testing of system applications as well as working with IT and the Director of Maintenance Admin & Fuel to continuously adapt to needed changes to improve efficiencies in operations. This role will manage the overall support structure of the Field Support Team including setup of new shops, onboarding of new site personnel and continued training for needs that arise across the regions.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage the team of Field Support personnel
  • Manage and support the setup and maintenance of parts records that may be purchased by Purchasing based on quality and OEM spec
  • Manage the administration tasks associated to ensuring vendor statements are current
  • Manage the Field Support structure to best support day to day operations and field questions from the field for all shop and operational functions
  • Manage user logins related to various OEM websites
  • Engage in corporate duties that require participation in process flows to ensure business continuity
  • Initiative to continuously look for areas of improvement and working with others to implement opportunities
  • Structure training materials associated to ongoing field support
  • Manage type of training as needed. New sites, site visits, Teams training etc.
  • Communicate effectively to encourage a positive outlook on all topics
  • Remain knowledgeable and able to effectively navigate OEM websites and instruct others how to as well
Job Qualifications
Education:
  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5 years’ experience in Transportation or Maintenance
Experience:
  • Knowledge of fleet components, parts and supplies
  • Knowledge of vendor warranty programs
  • Must be self-driven and highly motivated
  • Must be able to work patiently with others and teach new skillsets
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized and self-directed with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Ability to grasp complex technologies and data systems
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfortable making/defending decisions, relying heavily on knowledge and empirical evidence
  • Strong computer skills (programming not necessary, understanding how any program works, is)
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving environment while applying logic to basics
  • Familiarity with modern technologies such as Ipad’s, Tablets, or other mobile devices
  • Extreme confidence and ability to create abstract data sets using VLOOKUP, IF, AND, OR, ISNA, ISNUMBER, SEARCH and other formulas in excel or comparable BI tool.
  • Prior use and working Knowledge of SAP Inventory and Procurement processes required
Preferred:
  • 5 years or more on the job training in Transportation, Maintenance or Procurement
  • SAP experience
  • Technician, Parts Coordinator or Purchasing experience
  • Inventory and or accounting experience in the transportation industry
