We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Product Marketing Manager ready to apply their expertise in marketing planning and execution for a marketing team within a fast-paced publicly traded company. You’ll have a proven track record in developing, managing, and reporting on marketing campaigns and offering marketing solutions to stakeholders across solutions/products to meet revenue goals. In addition, you’ll exhibit a deep understanding of markets and customers to lead a product’s go-to-market strategy and demonstrate excellent leadership and project management skills.
The Product Marketing Manager will coordinate and execute a marketing strategy across cross-functional teams for solutions for the Casualty business. You’ll be working with a group of accomplished high-level professionals while deepening your knowledge and skills with an ever-expanding breadth of projects and the opportunity to make independent decisions. You’ll apply your talent in communicating the value of Verisk solutions and enjoy collaborating and building relationships with colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities
- Customer Journey – Leverage compelling customer insights from research and third- party data in the development of target personas, buyer needs and the purchasing decision process for the product, including key buyer roles; create internal positioning documentation to inform marketing strategy and messaging.
- (Product) Strategy – Define the market opportunity for a product through demonstrated knowledge of business goals for the product (product portfolio & roadmap, innovation plans, pricing models, etc.), understand and propose strategic pricing, gather data and conduct situation analysis, and be an expert on products and features to properly market them.
- Marketing Strategy – Deliver ongoing marketing planning process inclusive of objectives, strategies, tactics, budget, and measurement that secures BU leader and CMO approval, including preparing marketing plans, executing branding strategy, and managing budget while delivering product marketing campaigns that reach a wide audience.
- Messaging & Positioning – Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our Casualty solutions in the market, develop marketing strategies for new products, identify new markets and create plan to enter market, and partner with product development and business unit to estimate product demand.
- Market & Competitive Intelligence – Gather and leverage market and competitive intelligence to develop insights and strategies that inform product positioning, messaging, and campaign strategy; conduct thorough research on competitors and perform market research to understand what product users look for in their ideal products.
- Sales enablement – Work with the product team to develop sales collateral to enable effective selling, and other on-demand materials in support of sales efforts; collaborate with the sales teams to educate them on products’ features and monitor sales and revenue.
- Campaign Development – Conceive of, lead, and launch innovative, integrated, and multimedia marketing campaigns to include email marketing, digital content, web landing pages, online advertising, podcasts, video, advertising, social media, etc.; deliver superior creative briefs that compel outstanding creative development; review marketing campaigns for weaknesses and develop solutions; manage campaign calendar; and determine effective channel strategy.
- Marketing Analytics – Monitor and report on the performance of products in the market and communicate the results of related sales and marketing efforts; demonstrate proficiency of marketing-related software and analytical and problem-solving skills to come up with ideas to increase demand for products and services.
- Thought Leader – Serve as internal and market-facing SME/thought leader for the product and demonstrate time management and organization skills to plan and execute both large and small marketing projects and initiatives.
- BA in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 7 to 10 years of strategic marketing and/or marketing/product management experience
- Demonstrated success with developing and executing marketing strategy across multiple channels.
- Proven track record of leveraging customer, market and competitive to inform marketing and product strategy decisions.
- Clear understanding of the digital marketing landscape: marketing automation; demand generation; personalization; sales enablement/effectiveness; attribution reporting; campaign management
- Skilled at writing and socializing product-level documents: marketing plan, sales enablement plan, launch plan, solution handbook
- Successful track-record of cross-functional collaboration with teams, contributors, and stakeholders across multiple seniority levels
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and business problem-solving skills, including financial analysis, ROI analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Data-driven and results-oriented, with a perspective on how to measure and evaluate metrics for pre and post product launch, and define and measure metrics to measure the impact of marketing efforts
- Ability to rapidly prioritize and react to changing business needs and external market dynamics
