*Communications Program Position Description* *Job Title: Media Buyer* *Position Type: *Part Time *Department:* *Department Director: *Jesus Zapata *Program: *Communications *Worksite: *PVHC *Program Supervisor : *Jesus Zapata *Job Description* *Position Description: *Will negotiate with media outlets to acquire advertising space for print, radio, television, billboard, and online campaigns to grow brand awareness and increase sales. Will also be in charge of purchasing and maintaining vendor relationships for PV/PVHC purchase for banners, incentives, flags, signs, posters etc. They conduct market research to optimize the advertising medium and placement to effectively reach the desired target audience. They also need to monitor costs and work within a budget. This is a hybrid position divided between office and home. Monday and Tuesday are full workdays, the rest of the week is flexible to complete hours. *Roles and Responsibilities:* *1. Media Buyer:* a. Help identify target audiences and plan media campaigns b. Compare and negotiate rates, ad space and airtime c. Optimize plans and budgets according to the best media mix d. Prepare schedules and adjust when needed e. Experiment with new platforms and channels f. Ensure ads are creative and displayed appropriately g. Monitor costs and return on investment (ROI) h. Report to clients and build long-term relationships i. Handle marketing purchases relevant to the needs of PV/PVHC j. Familiarity with media-buying, planning and research k. Interest in following advertising and media trends l. Working knowledge of media analytics software (e.g. comScore) m. Excellent communication and negotiation skills n. Organizational and multitasking abilities o. Attention to detail p. Critical thinking skills *2. Collaboration:* a. Develop and maintain good relationships with all PV employees *3. Education Requirements* a. College hours or minor associated with MArketing, Communication or business administration, or prior experience on the field. b. Bilingual (English/Spanish) c. Culturally competent in border culture to provide culturally appropriate education and information to a broad range of audiences. 1 *Communications Program Position Description* d. Computer, internet and analytical skills are required. (e.g. technical proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Google Docs) *4. Preferred Skills* a. Must possess strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. *5. Additional Requirements:* a. Must have a reliable vehicle with current liability insurance and a valid driver’s license. b. Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs. c. Ability to follow ethical and legal standards (e.g. HIPAA) d. Must be able to work non-traditional hours and weekends on occasions. e. Must be self-directed and require limited oversight in performance of duties. f.
