Medical Receptionist Job at New Oakland Family Centers
Transend MSO, Inc. provides administrative support to New Oakland Family Centers, a comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse provider for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.
Location: Farmington Hills
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or another full-time equivalent.
Reports To: Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Director
Compensation: Hourly Employee. Commensurate with experience.
Position Summary: The Medical Receptionist position is a full-time role that will require working closely with clinical staff and consumers to ensure a welcoming and efficient environment is maintained.

Essential Duties / Functions:
- Ensure that all consumers receive, complete and fill out intake paperwork.
- Assist in ensuring all consumer documentation (i.e intake paperwork, correspondence, lab work, etc.) is uploaded into EMR record.
- Ensure proper supply of forms are available to staff.
- Complete and process intakes according to clinic procedures.
- Answer phones in a polite and professional manner.
- Relay messages accurately and timely.
- Complete EMR documentation as required by clinical policies/procedures.
- Attend trainings and meetings as needed.
- Schedule/reschedule physician/therapist appointments. Confirm physician appointments daily.
- Opening/closing the office.
- Light typing with a maximum of two (2) errors per page.
- Collect client co-pays.
- Ensure reception area and lobby is clean and organized.
- Greet and screen incoming staff and consumers.
- Fulfillment of all initial and ongoing training requirements.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor/site director.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. One to two years of relevant experience required.
Working Conditions: Staff need to be prepared to be actively involved with clients. Navy blue scrubs required per Employee Handbook.
