Spine Center Atlanta & Affiliates, is an accomplished and rapidly growing healthcare organization who has served the state of Georgia for the past 29 years. We are currently seeking an exceptional Medical Records Clerk who is self-motivated, goal oriented, results driven, and works best in a fast-paced, team first, collaborative environment.
Job Summary:
Performs medical records activities including filing, pulling, and delivering medical records to the proper location while handling information confidentially and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and standards.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Knowledge, Skills, Duties Include:
- Responsible for the processing and releasing of patient medical records and health information requests for attorneys, research, billing, patient use, and many other purposes
- Position may serve as the electronic health record external access support contact, providing appropriate support and/or access to information while maintaining the utmost patient confidentiality, as well as supporting the contracted release of information vendor.
- Sorts, maintains, and files information reports into patient charts in a timely manner
- Answers telephone calls and electronic requests pertaining to medical records/health information in a professional and courteous manner
- Demonstrates a caring and helpful attitude when interacting with patients, vendors, employees, and both internal and external customers. Strives to build cooperative partnership
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments and personnel
- Handles all confidential and proprietary information with tact, discretion on a need to know basis in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and standards.
- Other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience handling and processing Medical Records
- Experience in Personal Injury is preferred.
- Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with employees and patients under occasional periods of stress
- Ability to operate a computer
- Ability to be receptive to change in procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
