NARRATIVE DIRECTOR
As the Narrative Director, you will be a major force in shaping the narrative & storytelling for a brand new IP for an AAA project still in its early stages. You'll take a leadership role in telling the story of a brand new world, and implementing it over the course of the project. We're looking for someone who loves finding creative and non-traditional ways to tell stories, convey personality, and impart emotion into a game experience.
What you bring to our adventuring party:
- Passion and skill to generate captivating personalities, settings, emotional arcs, and themes that create lasting memories.
- Desire and ability to take an idea and see it through to implementation, guiding artists, designers, and other team members to bring vision to life
- The ability to direct external writers and edit their work
- Extraordinary levels of collaboration, and leadership all while making high-level decisions that lead to compelling vision
- Ability to create a cohesive set of storylines that intertwine throughout the game's experience.
- Experience navigating the narrative budget and schedule
- Ability to direct through text, audio, graphics, animation, VFX, and Voice actors, and more, to tell a compelling story.
- Able to bring out the personalities of our characters through a compelling storyline that forks out in multiple directions without sacrificing overall cohesion.
- Experience working with publishers.
- Shipped at least one AAA title or narratively impactful AA title from inception to launch in a creative/narrative leadership role
- 8+ years total game development experience
- Manage and balance competing demands between creative vision and technical / ludonarrative constraints
- Help shape tools development & evolution which enables other creatives to author effectively
- Provide constructive feedback to team members and stakeholders
- Coding/Scripting experience, implementing narrative work into a project
- Ability to edit, and polish in-game dialog, video scripts, and other player-facing content.
