Immediate opening for versatile, self-motivated community journalist covering Warrick County Indiana with The Warrick County Standard, a Thursday publication of Paxton Media Group. General assignment beats include features, education, local government and projects covering issues of importance and interest our community. The journalist will be attending meetings and events for story and photo assets in Warrick County. We value curiosity and versatility in team-minded journalists with crisp writing and excellent communication skills. The right candidate is comfortable with a camera, online writing for breaking news, and social media skills. Must have valid driver's license. Great opportunity for the recent graduate, or someone who loves community newspaper work. The position is full time, hourly pay, based on experience/market size with benefits including insurance, 401K and paid time off. Our newspaper is is based in Boonville, Ind., and some work at the office will be necessary. Boonville is located two to three hours from Indianapolis, Ind., Nashville, Tenn., St. Louis, Missouri or Louisville, Ky. We are an equal opportunity employer.
