Non-credit Entry-Level Healthcare Career Programs-Pharmacy Technician Instructor (Part-time Faculty) Job at Portland Community College
Portland Community College’s Entry Level Healthcare Programs program provide students and working professional opportunities to learn new skills, refresh their cardiac knowledge, or fulfill continuing education units (CEUs) needs. We are currently seeking part-time faculty members who have current content knowledge, who can balance academics with practical application, and are committed to equitable student success.
To be considered for a part-time faculty position, your application must demonstrate the Instructor Qualifications outlined below.
Pharmacy Technician Instructor
The Pharmacy Technician Program is a two term program that prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and for a career as a Pharmacy Tech. The program is delivered through a combination of online coursework and in-person skills sessions.
Minimum Instructor qualifications:
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
- Four years full-time experience in retail and/or hospital pharmacies
- Demonstrated recent experience using pharmacy software for filling prescriptions
- Formal or informal experience teaching adult learners (students, employees, or peers)
- Ability to teach compounding in a Pharmacy environment including the math skills necessary for compounding

- Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
- Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard. Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), you may view Portland Community College’s (PCC) most recent Annual Security Report (ASR) on the Department of Public Safety website. The ASR contains current security and safety-related policy disclosure statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information and resources, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains crime statistics for Clery Act crimes which occurred on PCC properties for the last three calendar years. Paper copies of the ASR are available upon request at all Department of Public Safety offices.
