Lowell General Hospital's dynamic Nuclear Medicine team is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Tech to join their team! Come work alongside a group of dedicated professional and supportive management!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greets patients using scripting and other tools in an effort to improve communication and improve patient/physician satisfaction.
• Identifies patient verbally by name and DOB and checks ID bracelet.
• Escorts patients by specified mode of transportation.
• Provides proper radiation protection for patient, other employees, and self in accordance with ALARA.
• Positions and prepares patients for Radiological procedures deciding on techniques and views to best demonstrate injury or illness.
• Orders proper exam in RIS system identifying proper ordering physician, account information and diagnosis. When necessary may contact patient for additional views and or schedule patient for exams.
• Provides patient education for ordered exams.
• Properly uses protocols, nuclear equipment and PACS to ensure image quality meets Radiologist protocol.
• Assists Radiologists and other physicians during Radiologic and Surgical procedures.
• Possesses skills pertinent to patient monitoring procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, intravenous care, and sterile technique.
• Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection and ingestion.
• Calibrate, monitor, and operate equipment in accordance with the standards established by the DPH.
• Records and maintains records of all patients, dose, radiopharmaceutical, date used or disposed and waste activity.
• Performs room, flood surveys, and hot lab QC daily etc. per DPH regulations.

Qualifications:

• Licensed in the state of Massachusetts
• Some College or Associate’s Degree Required
• 1-3 years of experience, preferred

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
