Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking Nurse Practitioners to work in our outpatient Mental Health Centers in Lowndes, Tift, and Cook county Georgia. As well as working in our inpatient Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) in Valdosta, Georgia. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing psychotherapy and medication evaluation and management to a range of clients having mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse diagnoses under the supervision of a psychiatrist. The Nurse Practitioner also provides evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge- planning services for individuals in inpatient and/or outpatient clinic(s).

This position requires:

• Current licensure in the state of GA
• Appropriate DEA licensure to include scheduled drugs preferred.
• Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program OR Psychiatric Mental Health Certification required within 24 months of employment.
• Ability to formulate diagnosis based on examination, assessment and test results.
• Ability to interpret test results, identify deviations from norms, and intervene or make appropriate referrals.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team of health care professionals.
• Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills.
• Ability to prescribe medications as part of a treatment plan gaining physician approval when needed.
• Knowledge of assessment tools, interviewing, and examination techniques.
• Knowledge of HIPAA.
• Knowledge regarding agreed upon practices and protocols.
• Knowledge of procedures including developing, implementing and revising plan of care. Documentation skills meeting legal and professional standards; maintaining records appropriately
