Occupational Therapist – 24 hours per week, Days

We are looking for a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join The Villa, Sisters of St. Joseph in Flourtown, Pa.

This organization is a member of Trinity Health PACE and serves as a full-service retirement center for the Sisters of St Joseph. This 80 bed, multi-level care facility includes independent living, assisted living, a medical and dementia unit.

Hours for the position will be 3 days a week, 8 am to 430 pm. Working Monday, Wednesday and Friday are preferred. However, alternative schedule would be considered.

This position will have a start date of 6/12/2023.

What you will do:

· Provide clinical occupation therapy evaluation and treatment in the facility, home visits or nursing homes.

· Perform in-person comprehensive occupational therapy assessment for initial acceptance, including problem identification and care planning.

· Conduct assessment and coordination of home modification program including installation of equipment and other changes to support independence and safety.

· Provide treatment to participants and implement occupational therapy procedures consistent in achieving identified goals and grade activities to facilitate goals.

· Train family members, other caregivers, and staff in methods to maximize safety and functional abilities in performing Activity of Daily Living (ADL) skills.

· Evaluate charts and reports on participants' progress, document occupational therapy notes in the participants' medical record according to the charting requirements

What you will need:

· Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy as normally obtained through a Bachelor's degree occupational therapy from an accredited program.

· Two (2) years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapist preferred.

· Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.

· Valid Driver’s license, insurance and use of personal vehicle for home care or other assignments.

· Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system.

· Superior written/verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational, problem solving and customer service skills as well as ability to adapt to change and attention to detail.

· Position may require 10% travel within the Centers geographic region.

· Position requires ability to engage in frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable.
