Optician/Medical Receptionist Job at Best View Eyecare
Best View Eyecare Palos Heights, IL 60463
Provide secretarial support in a family optometric setting including checking in patients, scheduling appointments, email correspondence, etc.
Optical duties include the assisting, selecting, and dispensing of contact lenses and spectacles. Primary duties will be administrative and include pre-testing of patients.
Our current need in optical is for coverage when our lead optician is not available.
Must works well with other employees in a team environment.
Our eye care facility is located in Palos Heights, and we have specialized in vision therapy for over 25 years. We pride ourselves on maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment for our patient's of all ages, backgrounds, and needs.
Job Description:
- Must have a warm, friendly, and outgoing demeanor to represent the values of our service.
- Must be willing to work evening shifts as late as 7:00pm
- Must be available for Saturday mornings shifts.
- Providing all the proper paper work for our patients/visitors and assisting them in filling up the required information for them to be seen by our doctors.
- Answering phone calls promptly in a well-mannered and etiquette way.
- Scheduling appointments and proficient with multiple forms of devices (desktops, tablets).
- Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients: assure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Sort incoming & outgoing emails.
- Verify benefits and inform patients of insurance coverage
- Pre-testing of patients
- Contact lens insertion and removal training.
- Experience in optical is highly preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.19 - $18.49 per hour
