Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to work directly with participants with special needs (Autism Spectrum Disorder, cognitive delays, social and emotional disorders, and learning differences/disabilities) within a social/recreational setting.

Required conduct is to be ethical and fair while representing the City. Work Schedule: Varies upon program; shift may include evenings, weekends and holidays; rotating shifts. (Work shifts to be 1 - 2 times per month based on regular programming starting in September, with one evening event in June.)
- Assist instructors/vendors with implementation of activities.
- Lead participants in small groups.
- Light janitorial services.
- Room setups/breakdowns.
- Assist with events/programs.
High school graduation or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years' experience working with persons with special needs or in an educational/instructional setting.
Work Schedule: Varies upon program; shift may include evenings, weekends and holidays; rotating shifts. (Work shifts to be 1 - 2 times per month based on regular programming starting in September, with one evening event in June.)
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force to move objects.
