JOB PURPOSE:

The Parts and Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for purchasing, storing, and distributing all spare parts in support of our company’s tradesmen involving the installation, repair, and upkeep operations of our company’s manufacturing and facilities equipment.

A complete ownership and management of the parts room.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Facilities Management, or Science. Should have some training/ knowledge in one of our Specific Trades (Machinist, Electrician, Technician) or equivalent experience.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

7+ years of demonstrated experience; 5+ years in a manufacturing environment

Should include 3+ years hands on experience working with a CMMS system.

Minimum 3 years MRO parts room experience or warehouse management

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

• Knowledge of Fiber Optic Industry desirable
• SAP Experience preferred (MM module)
• Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, and Power Point; Acute ability to understand and use data for continuous improvement.
• Knowledge and experience with Kanban Inventory Management
• Knowledge and experience with 6S and Kaizen process
• Expert Knowledge of best practices for parts inventory control methods (cycle counting, ABC inventory management classification)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Procures parts as needed to support Tradesmen’s needs or inventory replenishment
• Establish and maintain secure parts storeroom(s).
• Establish, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for storeroom operations, define workflows.
• Develop, Implement, and maintain a defined locator system for parts and tools.
• Manage obsolete parts, including the effective salvage and disposal of obsolete inventory.
• Coordinate with planner /scheduler for the kitting and delivery of parts for planned Work Orders.
• Check in, tag, locate, or distribute parts immediately upon receipt.
• Maintain appropriate PPE supplies and HAZMAT gear inventory levels for HAZMAT team command center
• Excellent resolution skills with parts vendors and employees, both verbal and written
• Inspects all parts for damage and quality/accuracy
• Verify correct parts with mirror match
• Distribute parts to requestor if not a replenishment item.
• Post/bill parts into management system and maintain accurate inventories in the iMaint CMMS.
• Return and re-order incorrect or damaged parts
• Track incomplete order status (outstanding orders, backorders, and credits) and follow up as necessary
• Keep work area clean and well organized
• Comply with all safety rules, guidelines, and standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective repair
• Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders
• Multi-tasking; adapts easily to fast-paced environment
