Certified Pharmacy Technician - Retail - $5,000 sign-on/retention bonus

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Retail Pharmacy at Centerra in Lebanon, NH seeks a pharmacy technician to join our team. In this role, the pharmacy technician works under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacists to support the Retail Pharmacy, including: working the register, billing insurance, dispensing product, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean workspace. Full-time and per diem positions are available.

Our ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, and an attention to detail. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred, though all are encouraged to apply.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Retail Pharmacy operates 24 hours/day, 365 days a year. We have a dedicated staff of over 40 technicians and pharmacists combined, and each one is encouraged to work to the top of their certification or licensure to promote patient health and well-being. Full-Time Shift Highlights:

  • Four 10 hour shifts per week.
  • We offer both rotating day/evening shifts (7:00 AM-9:00 PM) and set overnight shifts (9:00 PM-7:30 AM) to support our 24/7 pharmacy.
  • Rotating Saturday and Sunday coverage is equitably comped during the week.
  • Our shift differentials are 10% for evenings, 20% for nights, and 15% for weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Certified Technicians:
    • Answers Phones.
    • Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.
    • Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and/or robots (example: shelves, carousels, Parata).
    • May assist with orienting and training pharmacy department staff.
    • Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
    • Assists in revising policy and procedure.
    • Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist. Take verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production. Processes third party claims.
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Registered Technicians:
    • Restocks medications daily and maintain workspace cleanliness.
    • Counts, weighs, measures, pours and reconstitutes prescription medication or stock legend drugs and controlled substances.
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.


Required Licensure/Certifications

- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required. - Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required. - BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy. For Specialty Pharmacy, if employee is designated as a full-time remote employee working outside of the states of NH/VT, BLS is not required.
