LAWRENCE, MA – Child & Family Services is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with families and adoption to join our Adoption Journeys team in Lawrence, MA as a Post Adoption Caseworker. Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Three years of experience in an advocacy and/or casework oriented human service position
  • Knowledge of family systems
  • Adoption experience is desirable
  • Experience or interest in Group Work
  • Valid drivers license & ability to travel to home visits
  • Ability to work as a member of a team

Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are not meant to be all inclusive and may be adjusted to meet the agency’s needs.

  • Responsible for participation in the Post Adoption Team, providing brief, home-based family support services to adoptive and guardianship families
  • Provide a strengths based assessment of the family’s needs and resources
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule. May include nights and weekends
  • Provide advocacy and coordination to empower families to gain access to long term supportive services
  • Design, track and implement support groups to meet the diverse needs to adoptive families
  • Coordinate and/or provide training to mental health and/or human service related professionals
  • Responsible for providing assistance/backup to the Regional Manager in relation to regional support services and the marketing of the program to other human service oriented resources
  • Responsible for documentation and record keeping in accordance with agency standards and contractual obligations.
  • Attend regularly scheduled training's and staff meetings
  • Perform other required duties and responsibilities, as assigned
