Job summary:

This position is responsible for verifying accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments, preparing documents, issuing carrier instructions for shipping and delivery of materials, and recording shipment data. The Production/Shipping Lead will determine shipping methods for materials using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. In addition, this person will communicate with company representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications. The Production/Shipping Lead will work either in the warehouse or in the manufacturing facilities as shipping needs dictate. He/she will determine and communicate product needs from the molders/purchasers to ensure inventory levels support outbound orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure team coordination for area of operations under the guidance of the Plant Manager.

· Responsible for ensuring accuracy of all shipping/receiving paperwork.

· Responsible for auditing shipments and receipts for accuracy of purchase order or customer order information

· Responsible for record-keeping and warehouse office support. Perform employee reviews and other supervisory duties for a small team of employees.

· Resolve inventory discrepancies and keep accurate cycle counts and physical inventories.

· Communicate with 3rd party providers to efficiently coordinate all activities for inbound and outbound shipments, including dock appointments, live unloads, drop trailers/containers and empty equipment notifications and returns.

· Identify and resolve any discrepancies with inbound deliveries against purchase orders.

· Maintain safe and clean work environment.

· Answer all shipping telephone calls and route to appropriate individuals.

· Follow established company policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· High School Degree or equivalent.

· Minimum 3 years manufacturing and shipping experience.

· Minimum 3 years leadership experience.

· Proficient with Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, IQMS).

· Ability to perform administrative duties including data entry work.

· Effective communication and coordination skills.

· Excellent math skills.

· Organizational and time management skills.

· Problem solving skills.

· Power equipment experience, preferably an OSHA approved license.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, heat and cold.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

· Safety Glasses required.
