About the Team:??

Our Payroll product is at the center of our portfolio. It enables our customers to pay their employees correctly and on time. As we continue to accrue customers rapidly and build engaging experiences, we continue to lean into an API-first strategy to power cross suite experiences both internally and externally. In this role you will help to realize these strategies to meet demands of growth, scale, and effective delivery by ensuring the high quality and performance of our APIs & UIs.

What you will do:

• Understand customer needs and business goals
• Define strategy to ensure high quality of the products
• Advocate for best practices and a healthy balance of tech debt versus delivery
• Engage with your team in design discussions
• Understand and consider technical dependencies
• Work within the scope of a team and participate in cross-team collaboration
• Find innovative ways to increase the velocity of your work
• Demonstrate software quality through integration tests, performance tests and manual tests
• Strengthen your team by sharing your knowledge and interests with others
• Build relationships and communicate with various types and levels of stakeholders across the organization
• Manage risks, escalate priorities, and help to resolve issues that could impact production quality

Required Experience:

• 3+ years’ hands-on experience with commercial SW development
• Proven expertise with code-driven automation (preferably with Cypress)
• Proficiency with GIT
• Basic command of Javascript and/or Typescript
• Experience of large-scale distributed systems
• Experience with monitoring of application health (preferably with Datadog)
• Understanding of REST API standards and concepts
• Basic command of SQL language (preferably T-SQL)

Nice To Have:

• Experience with unit testing in C#
• Experience writing UI tests in JavaScript or Typescript
• Knowledge of Specflow
• Experience with microservice architecture and eventing
• Prior experience with Azure, GCP, or AWS (AWS preferred)
• Experience with Containers (Docker, K8s/Kubernetes)

What success looks like:

As a member of our Payroll team, you will be testing and supporting our Domain APIs as well as the UIs consuming them. You will also be working side-by-side with Product Owners and Business Stakeholders. Our QA Engineers are actively involved in the complete software development life cycle in an Agile environment including technical design, integration testing, performance testing and observability.
