Job Description
Position Summary
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for leading/participating on root cause analysis teams, the daily management of quality continuous improvement projects, and support strategic business projects. The successful candidate will possess a mix of project management skills, mechanical aptitude, good communication skills and the drive to achieve true root cause of non-conformities.

Responsibilities

Individual Contributor
Lead 8D root cause analysis teams for projects and strategic business initiatives, including good communication and visual management tools
Communicate data and daily improvement actions in gemba walks on manufacturing floor. Engage floor associates to make improvements in respective areas.
Participate in tear downs, trouble shooting, testing and validation of internal failures or new design improvements.
Design / Implement / Audit standard work processes for manufacturing cells that drive warranty reductions.
Participate/Lead FAI and PPAP inspections and report outs

QualificationsExperience and Skill Required

BS or BA degree in engineering or engineering technology program
3+ years of experience working with several quality Improvement tools such as 5 Why, 8D, Measurement Systems. FMEA, APQP, Control Plans, SPC, etc.
Problem solving and continuous improvement
Project management experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with software such as Minitab, Microsoft Access, and Sharepoint
Ability to read blueprints and perform measurements as needed using calipers, gauges, and lab equipment
