Oversee multiple functions required to ensure the successful delivery of the services provided by the Patient Services Department. This function includes and is not limited to; phlebotomy services, (including Mobile Phlebotomy, Patient Service Centers, In Office Phlebotomy), Logistics, Client Services and Specimen Management in the assigned region. Alternately, may oversee phlebotomy services (including Patient Service Centers, In Office Phlebotomy and/or Mobile Phlebotomy) with responsibility for Team Lead’s within the assigned region. Responsible for the activities, training of Team Lead’s, all daily operations of PSCs and IOPs in assigned region. Ensure maintenance of a safe, professional environment in all facilities supervised by Team Lead’s in assigned region.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Train new hires in assigned region
- Travel to client offices to train, support, and cover for direct reports
- Participate as needed in the interview, selection and hiring of new employees.
- Investigates/resolves and responds to complaints appropriately and effectively.
- Hold regularly scheduled meetings for dissemination of all information to staff.
- Assist in coordinating staffing coverage of accounts
- Approve payroll for direct reports
- Monitor overtime, manage OT approval, and manage schedule changes or coverages as necessary for assigned region
- Participate in candidate interviews for open positions and collaborate through the hiring process with Team Leads in region
- Work with Team Leads through necessary disciplinary processes of direct reports
- Contact direct report each week to review progress and any holds, missing information, training requests, or other needs
- Maintain relationships and regularly visit Team Lead’s to proactively handle any service issues and ensure compliance with all SOPs and polices
- Participate on process improvement teams, or other initiatives to meet management objectives.
- Organize and lead projects both within the work group and with cross-functional groups. May be required to give presentations and speak in groups.
- All other duties as assigned, within scope of the position.

- Oversees staff and activities of the department, distributes/assigns work; determines priorities; schedules non-routine procedures; performs personnel related functions (firing, discipline, training, etc.).
- Performs duties of PSR as necessitated by absence or peak workload.
- Completes special projects as requested, e.g., surveys, statistical reports, studies, research, etc.
- Travel + some overnights will be required
- Must be willing to travel within region with little notice (24 hours or less)
Job Requirements:
- Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; weekends, holidays, on call and overtime.
- Demonstrates good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; is able to manage concerns of patients and employees in a professional manner.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high volume setting.
- PC skills, MS Office applications.
- Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise consistent, independent, sound judgment.
- Ten Years of Phlebotomy Experience
- Management Experience
