Rinnai America Corporation (RAC) is looking for RAC-STARS! We are conducting a TOP TALENT search for a Regulatory and Certification Manager.
What does a Regulatory and Certification Manager do at Rinnai?

As the Manager of Regulatory and Certification for Rinnai you will be a strategic problem solver leading Rinnai’s active participation in existing and new regulatory bodies for our products and Rinnai’s product evaluation and certification process. Using your technical expertise, you will lead multi-disciplinary projects.
What you will do:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a test and certification strategy that includes identifying automation opportunities and leveraging new technology
- Lead the certification team in collaboration with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross functional partners across the company
- The primary facilitator for conveying requirements from the Product Development teams to the certification bodies and tracking development and communicating the roadmap across the organization
- Drive product approvals including generation and maintenance of compliance matrix documents including log and track issues identified through testing
- Report project status, prioritize tasks, drive issue resolution to completion with device OEMs for devices in certification
- Analyze new features and provide new requirements to gather feedback and provide guidance in making detailed plans for device testing and
- Support Product development teams with new technology testing.
- Lead and work in partnership with Rinnai Japan to organize certification projects with 3rd party certification bodies for component certification.
- Maintain all CSA, AHRI, UL, etc. certification reports directory and create new certification records as necessary.
- Organize DOE test data to compile information for Energy Star submission
- Coordinate NOx testing with 3rd party certification body and ensure reports are reviewed and certified with applicable Air Quality Management Districts.
- Coordinate high altitude testing with Appliance Engineering as necessary.
- Provide and monitor all certification listings (CSA Group, Coordinating European Council (CEC), Massachusetts, UL, International Code Council (ICC), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), AHRI, Energy Star) to ensure accurate information is available and displayed. Work with governing bodies to address any discrepancies.
- Lead the development of an automated document creation and maintenance system for laboratory documents including lab certifications with CSA Group, UL, and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
LAB TESTING
- Develop test plan, schedule, and oversee CSA certification testing to applicable ANSI
standards within Rinnai Laboratory Scope as well as Department of Energy (D.O.E).
and Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) test procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum 8 years in certification
- Demonstrated experience with data collection and management, data analysis
and interpretation, and report writing.
- American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and DOE test protocol experience
related to gas fired products
SKILLS
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical proficiency in related field.
- Moderate to High computer literacy – Microsoft Office.
- Understands basic electrical and plumbing schematics.
- Background in test development and automation
ABILITIES
- High level of personal integrity and honesty.
- Team player able to operate with substantial independence and enthusiasm.
- Ability to produce reports on technical issues.
- Task oriented approach with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Must possess a high level of attention to detail.
