Research Operations is seeking a Research Operations Specialist to join our team. This position provides cross-functional, collaborative support to create a standard of excellence to foster top tier scientific research at Texas Biomed. The Role:

Evaluate research needs, space and equipment to optimize space and asset allocation and utilization
Act as a concierge to new and established laboratory staff to support research focused projects
Provide support to and coordinate day-to-day research operation management to include the management of scientific equipment, service contracts and calibrations
Foster a positive and collaborative environment at Texas Biomed through outstanding and facilitative customer service and developing efficient processes and procedures to optimize research productivity by creating and maintaining working knowledge of processes that impact and support research operations
Serve as main point of contact for research operations and resources team to manage scientific equipment depot, sharing, repurpose, relocation, disposal, and other requisitions pertaining to scientific equipment and instrumentation
Utilize FM Systems Space and Asset Management Software to track and manage research space, occupancy and scientific equipment
Manage independent projects in collaboration with Facilities Operations, EHS, and Biocontainment focused on optimizing research productivity and interacting with lab staff on research support requests, including space planning, logistical support for lab expansion, and equipment relocations
Facilitate requests for research space requirements to include additional research space requests and optimization of existing and projected space allocations for current and future research faculty and staff
