Reuse Innovation & Training Coordinator Job at Lifecycle Building Center (LBC)
Reuse Innovation & Training Coordinator increases waste diversion rates by effective removal, material handling and processing of donations, purchases, and deconstructed material in a non-standard retail environment; increasing successful reuse material utilization in Nonprofit Material MATCH Program grant awards; providing community education of reuse through workshops and volunteer service days; and incorporating reuse into internal facility projects. In addition, the Reuse Innovation & Training Coordinator is responsible for conducting training classes for the employees, temporary labor placements, workforce development partners, and long term volunteers of Lifecycle Building Center as needed.
- Drive a medium sized box truck with a lift gate and service truck to pick up building material donations
- Promptly, safely, and carefully dismantle installed building materials from both occupied and unoccupied residential and commercial sites
- Load and unload building material donations from deconstruction projects and building material pick-ups from residential, commercial, retail, film, and nonprofit sites at the LBC warehouse
- Facilitate and lead workshops to foster creativity and sustainability through reuse in areas including, but not limited to: home performance, energy-efficiency, DIY home and garden projects
- Work alongside the Director of Operations to design and develop training programs
- Conduct organization-wide tools, safety, and building construction training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
- Manage and maintain in-house training areas and equipment
- Conduct field safety audits to ensure that all employees are working in a safe manner
- Support the Director of Operations and Warehouse & Inventory Manager with facility renovations and upgrades by coordinating assigned volunteer service days and completing select building projects.
- Support the Director of Operations to increase the impact of the Nonprofit Material MATCH Program (NMMP)
- Supplementing labor needs of NMMP grant requests by building items such as benches, food pantries, little libraries, garden beds, etc. from reuse materials
- Sourcing materials to fulfill NMMP grant requests within the Reuse Center, pickup donations, and/or Deconstruction projects
- Lead volunteers on both on-site and select off-site projects to increase community and donor engagement on select NMMP building or deconstruction projects
- Providing limited construction management/consulting on select NMMP grant requests
- Working alongside the Director of Operations to design, develop, and execute an Affordable Housing Initiative within the Nonprofit Material MATCH Program (NMMP)
- Provide great customer service to building material donors, Reuse Center customers, volunteers, nonprofit partners, and workshop attendees
- Assist with Reuse Center services as needed

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
