The primary function of the revenue cycle business analyst is:
- Provide analysis, support and consultation to leadership relating to the various components of revenue cycle management.
- Provide analytical insight for all reporting specific to revenue cycle including the creation and maintenance of all departmental scorecards, dashboards and ad hoc reporting using a variety of source systems.
- Determine the root cause of revenue cycle problems, questionable variations, denials, etc.
- Monitor denial trends and reports; recommend corrective and preventative actions
- In collaboration with revenue cycle leadership, develop corrective action plans.
- Based on appropriate analysis, they will recommend modifications to established practices and procedures, or system functionality as needed in order to support optimal productivity and efficiency within revenue cycle.
- Work with internal customers to ensure newly implemented workflows and procedures are hardwired and maintained in order to best achieve financial goals.
- As project manager, the analyst will create, facilitate, implement and evaluate project plans required for both ongoing operations and improvements in quality and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Experience in data analysis/data modeling with the ability to analyze data in creative ways and display results in a compelling manner
- Thorough understanding of ICD-10, CPT codes, HCPCS codes, physician billing, third party reimbursements and contracts
- Ability to manage multiple complex and concurrent projects
- 3-5 years of experience with the below functions/roles
- Revenue cycle process flow from patient check in to payment posted
- Professional Physician Billing
- Charge Master maintenance and auditing
- Experience in Patient Accounting Department
- Healthcare Analysis Experience
- Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- EMA Mod Med, Nextgen experience preferred
