Rides Maintenance - Lead Mechanic Job at Cedar Fair
Overview:
Maintains mechanical aspects of rides to ensure that they operate safely and efficiently and assists with supervision of area.
Responsibilities:
Reads and understands inspection procedures.- Completes daily checklists, torques or secures fasteners., determines operating condition of belts, motors, reducers, clutches and other components of rides and recognizes changes in sound of running equipment.
- Inspects rides.
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs.
- Answers calls for maintenance checks and repairs.
- Develops and maintains positive relationship with staff.
- Assists supervisor in establishing work and safety procedures.
- Delegates work as needed in a fair and equal manner.
- Ensures that company policies are followed.
- Completes final inspections to assure quality control.
- Assists supervisor in preparing future maintenance and parts needs. Assists supervisor in maintaining spare parts inventory.
- Assists supervisor with interviewing, hiring, supervising, scheduling, training, and conducting performance appraisals for full-time and seasonal associates in assigned area.
Maintenance journeyman (Class A) preferred.- Must be able to understand basic pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience
- High school graduate/GED preferred.
- Driver’s License required.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
