JOB SUMMARY

The Risk Manager will oversee the organization’s comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assess and identify risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization, and manage claims and enrollment activity to ensure compliance. Duties include communicating with company leadership personnel, Department Managers or legal staff; reviewing operational procedures, employee data or market trends and presenting their findings to upper management personnel; and managing the daily activity of claims submissions, data gathering, insurance renewals, and bond activity.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensures US based overall risk management process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur, aligns with local regulatory requirements and parent company risk management processes

· Performing a risk assessment: Analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company

· Performing a risk evaluation: Evaluating the company’s previous handling of risks, comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements.

· Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors

· Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals

· Lead negotiation of coverage commitments with customers, supplies, and other third parties

· Establishes and assesses policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organizations services and departments, and implement necessary modifications

· Annual review of vendor insurance requirements

· Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.

· Reviews and analyzes metrics and data such as cash flow, inventory, breakage, and employee activity that could uncover fraudulent behavior.

· Drafts and presents risk reports and proposals to executive leadership and senior staff.

· Performs other duties as directed

· Be the liaison between the insurance company and operational teams for all claims activity

· Manage insurance renewals and requirements for customer projects and vendors

· Perform and manage activity related to bid bonds and certificates of insurance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Knowledge of risk assessment and control

· Experience with auditing and reporting procedures

· Familiarity with industry compliance standards and regulations (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Act)

· Strong computer and research skills; knowledge of analysis software is preferred (e.g. Statistical Analysis Software, or SAS)

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.

· Excellent mathematical and critical thinking skills.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

· 5-7 years of experience as a Risk Manager for a manufacturing company

· 3-5 years of experience with a company that conducts international business.

· Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Finance, or related field

Preferred Education / Experience

· Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification
