Position Description:

• Create, manage, and serve as a leader for the Safety/EHS program for the Eagle contract at Ft. Bliss
• Ability to adapt to different personality types to ensure situations are handled and explained properly.
• Responsible for cradle to grave incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, reporting incidents to the Customer and Corporate Headquarters, and ensures reporting requirements are met.
• Responsible for maintaining OSHA recordkeeping.
• Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and leading Accident Analysis Committees to review incidents and ensure timely completion of corrective/preventative actions.
• Performs job hazard assessments by participating in processes and procedures and researching industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Provides guidance to the management team with completing, reviewing, and updating JHA on a continuous basis.
• Ensure all assigned personnel are properly licensed to operate equipment that they are required to operate/maintain.
• Ensure personnel have completed proper qualifications, training, physicals, and security requirements.
• Ensure all personnel and maintenance operations conform to federal/state/installation environmental, health, safety, fire, and security standards.
• Ensure, by auditing and inspecting, that all test equipment and tools issued to employees are properly inventoried and controlled.
• Ensure, by auditing and inspecting, that work areas are hazard free and employees are conducting work safely.
• Ensure maintenance management system support functions are performed in accordance with established directives.
• Perform functions related to Safety/EHS program planning, funds control, data collection and analysis and ensuring control/compliance techniques are followed.
• Develop internal and external standard operating procedures for Safety/EHS management and functional areas.
• Complete fire and safety inspections in all facilities that we work and maintain.
• Process auditing to ensure that processes are being kept in alignment with our SOP.
• Fleet vehicle safety inspections performed monthly to ensure all employees are safe.
• Manage and direct the work for 3 Safety Officers based on leading and lagging safety indicators.

Requirements:

• Five years’ experience performing Safety/EHS programs in a contract and/or industrial environment.
• Three years’ experience in administrative, professional, analytical or other work related to Safety/EHS programs or operations.
• Two years’ experience as a manager for over 25 employees.
• Possess knowledge to maintain a Safety/EHS management system in accordance with the applicable regulations, EHS Policies and directives.
• Ability to analyze, develop, evaluate, advise or promote improvements in Safety/EHS logistical programs and timely reporting.
• Ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress.
• Possess verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to safely work in adverse environments to include extreme heat and extreme cold.
• Ability to lift 49lbs
• Must be available to work long shifts as necessary in adverse conditions (heat, rain, nights and weekends) as required to meet contract deliverables.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience performing logistics safety functions in different types of work centers to include facility mechanical, warehousing, bulk indoor and outdoor storage, vehicle mechanical, and office space.
• Experience working on military installations and broad understanding of Army Regulations
• Works under little general supervision, providing technical solutions of moderate scope/complexity
• Experience with Excel and ability to develop spreadsheets and graphs to support decision making through trend analysis.
• Experience working with QT9 Quality Management System software is a plus.
