The role
Superior Environmental Solutions (SES), is looking for dedicated Safety Representative to join our dynamic team at our Owensboro, Kentucky operation. As the Safety Representative you will work closely with the Site Manager, Team Members and the Executive Team to reach all company safety requirements and goals; managing safety performance in a diverse portfolio of environmental projects, ensuring regulatory/safety compliance and providing expert technical input; performing site investigations and client interaction; act as a safety and environmental champion, lead by example, and correct/coach unsafe conditions and behaviors among team members.

What you will be doing
Key responsibilities and functions may include, but are not limited to:

- Direct the implementation of safety training requirements.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction and factory Safety Regulations, including: PRCS, LO/TO, 40 Hr HAZWoper, PRCS Rescue, Fall Protection, PPE, etc.
- Perform safety audits of Superior Environmental Solutions projects and personnel at customer facilities.
- Inspect safety equipment for proper working condition, integrity and maintenance.
- Manage New employee training and company introductions
- Manage training program and re-certification processes.
- Manage medical surveillance program.
- Ability to problem solve, research, and develop solutions related to providing safe working conditions on project sites.
- Ability to communicate well and work with operations personnel to get “buy in” on safety policies.
- Provide technical advice regarding safety equipment and safety procedures to Company Personnel.
- Order safety supplies and work with vendors to maintain efficient restocking and cost management for safety supplies.
- Ability to build relationships with clients.
- Limited travel required (about 5% travel).
- Some Flexibility with work hours required.
- Manage near miss-program.
- Investigate employee injuries and manage the medical response as needed.
What we are looking for
Skills/Qualifications:
Skills/Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Safety, or other related discipline.
- 2+ years of environmental, health, safety, and compliance experience.
- OSHA 30 hour Training, preferred.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products. Must have the ability to communicate well with blue collar workers and white collar regulatory managers/inspectors.
- Good written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and organizational and scheduling skills are essential.

- Valid Driver’s license
Essential Physical and Safety Requirements
- The incumbent must be able to visit and tour manufacturing facilities, including climbing stairs, cat-walks, climbing tank ladders, etc.
- This position may require exposure to hazardous environments and require the wearing of a respirator.
- This position requires adherence with DOT Drug and Alcohol testing requirements.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must be able to perform field safety inspections, enter confined spaces, and respond to emergencies.
