The Cloud Computing Consultant will be responsbible for, but not limited to:
Peraton is seeking to hire a Senior Cloud Computing Consultant to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protection of lives and property
The Cloud Computing Consultant will be responsbible for, but not limited to:
- Provide technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies and expert advice to the program, and related cloud computing architectures.
- Optimize memory management identifying the best ways to develop distributed cluster-enabled and graph processing algorithms.
- Assist customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas, performing RDF translations, and defining domain specific ontologies, where applicable.
- Develop large data technologies, algorithms, and applications for clients. Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics for clients in research and production areas.
- Work with massive data sets, complex algorithms, and team members from a variety of specialties to solve clients' hardest problems.
- Support a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadership.
- Work as a key contributor on a collaborative, fast-growing, and highly skilled software development team.
Required Experience:
- Ability to obtain a Security clearance. In order to be sponsored for a security clearance, you must be a US Citizen.
- Bachelors degree and 12+ years of experience or a Masters Degree and 10+ years of experience or a PhD and 10+ years of experience
- Experience with information extraction and analysis techniques, practices, and algorithms
- Knowledge of a variety of advanced computer science and mathematical concepts, practices, and procedures associated with the analysis of large datasets, from indexing schemes to statistical tests
- Knowledge of Cloud computing, Hadoop or MapReduce, Netezza, Vertica, BigTable, Pig, Terradata, or Amazon Web Services
- Apply expert knowledge in computer science, particularly in the Semantic Web and cloud computing environments
Desired Experience:
- Active/Current Security Clearance
- Bachelors degree and 15 years of experience or a Masters Degree and 13 years of experience or a PhD and 10+ years of experience
- Experience with data mining or machine learning preferred
