SENIOR ANALYST SUMMARY*
The Senior Commercial Analyst (CCS) will primarily support Milestone Carbon by leading economic analysis for capital projects and commercial activities related to carbon capture and sequestration. Other responsibilities will include supporting Business Development by researching and analyzing acquisitions, divestments, competition, and relevant growth initiatives. The role has frequent external engagement and executive level interaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead cash flow modeling and economic analysis supporting capital projects, commercial transactions, acquisitions, and divestments
- Assess strategic fit, competitive landscape, and opportunities and risks for capital projects and investments
- Propose innovative solutions and structures to generate value
- Support the entirety of the commercial process including strategy formation, opportunity identification, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, execution, and integration
- Conduct research and analysis on relevant growth initiatives
- Present recommendations and proposals to senior leadership and external parties
- Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and trust
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred) and 2 to 4 years related experience. 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development and strategy. Oil and gas-related experience, including midstream, is preferred. Must have working knowledge of financial and economic concepts, tools, and terminology.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Developing financial and economic models, including cash flow, for capital projects, commercial transactions, acquisitions, and divestments
- Identifying, assessing, and quantifying financial and economic opportunities and risks
- Conducting market research and analyzing business conditions and the potential impact on the organization's strategies and operations
- Proficient with financial statements
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
