This role will work fully onsite at our warehouse in Lathrop, CA.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to manage aspects of our Fulfillment Operations. In this role, you will focus on building and managing the team and processes for kitting operations and order management of subscriptions, e-commerce & bulk orders. Additionally, you will be leading the inbound and outbound logistics, and inventory control functions. We’re looking for a person who loves to unpack the way things work, and who enjoys testing and measuring solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Become an expert in Warehouse Management systems and back-end systems to proactively find ways to improve our order management processes and identify and resolve issues.
- Provide accurate and insightful daily, weekly, and monthly data analysis of KPI data to underpin all aspects of fulfillment/kitting cost and service level performance. Use this insight to drive strategic performance improvement.
- Closely collaborate with other Operations Managers and the Vice President of Operations to recommend and execute against opportunities to drive both strategic and continuous improvement. Develop the tools, processes, and capabilities across warehouse functions to transform our ways of working.
- Peak season readiness planning, including workload projections, staffing needs, and shift planning. Ensure labor is being used effectively and processes are being followed.
- Apply the lenses of customer experience and systems improvement to identify, suggest, and implement improvements in the way we deliver the experience of KiwiCo.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Supply Chain or Operations related fields
- 8+ years of experience with a proven track record managing end-to-end aspects of operations (inbound/outbound logistics, order management, fulfillment, inventory management) in a high-volume picking and shipping (hundreds of thousands of shipments per week) environment.
- 4+ years of team management experience including effective communication, engagement, performance review, setting clear expectations, delivering feedback, and inspiring results
- Experience working with enterprise-scale Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP)
- Proven experience developing and implementing operational procedures and policies
- Hands-on, "get things done" mentality. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet challenging deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Proven ability to see a project from the idea stage through successful completion - and do whatever it takes to make it a success. Hurdles are inevitable, but you take it upon yourself to take ownership, assess options, create solutions, and get projects done.
- You are comfortable working with a variety of systems and basic business tools like Google docs, and intermediate Excel (eg. pivot tables, vlookup)
- You have an analytical mindset for understanding why problems happen and are able to identify issues and find solutions.
- Ability to work well within cross-functional teams and a strong sense of ownership.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with order fulfillment processes for physical products, direct-to-consumer, and e-commerce is a plus
- Familiar with improvement methodologies (eg. Lean, Six Sigma, etc)
