Job Title: Contract Member of Technical Staff (CMTS) - Core Routing & Switching

General Responsibilities

Supervising, coordinating and performing additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software

Providing direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems, including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for the detection and correction of operational problems

Troubleshooting at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols

Participating in or owning the planning design, technical review, and implementation of new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks

Maintaining network infrastructure standards, including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP

Performing proof of concepts (PoCs) testing, integration testing, risk-based testing, performance testing or feature testing for client initiatives

Providing technical consultation, training, and support to technical staff

Correlate issues/events and recommend solutions

Craft M&Ps (Methods and Procedures) to resolve chronic issues

Follow M&Ps to support configuration management and deployment activities

Work with QA to resolve lab issues support setup and tear down of testing
environments

Competent in upgrading, downgrading, or navigating configurations for multiple network core devices

Work with vendors and Service Provider personnel to track and resolve open issues

IP UA Devices - Poly, Cisco, Yealink, Grandstream, Adtran

Network Monitoring platforms: SolarWinds, OpenNMS, Cacti, PRTG, Logic Monitor

Optical Transport and Access Networking

SMS/MMS integration, troubleshooting and design

Voicemail design, installation, integration and operational support

Voice Communications troubleshooting, network troubleshooting, gathering logs and traces as needed to support root cause isolation

Competent in upgrading and managing configurations for core VOIP Platforms or Gateways (VOIP switch or SBC such as Metaswitch, Broadsoft, etc)

Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting UCaaS services such as MS Teams or WebEx

Sound understanding of SIP, RTP, Linux, Radius, L2/L3 routing and switching

Lead troubleshooting calls with Voice Service Provider and vendor resources to achieve a successful outcome

Reporting, tracking, and trending on specific vendor equipment and operating system issues

Proactively identify ways to improve processes & procedures

Sound understanding of transport technologies including Metro Ethernet, Hybrid Fiber Coax, WiFi, and Optical

Fluent in one software development Language and a demonstrated understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies

Experience developing and leading a technical team to implement an innovative communication solution

Industry recognized certifications in the Technology space; for example, CCNA, CCDA, AWS DevOPS Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP, Ansible for Network Automation, Cisco Broadworks Engineering Professional etc.

Desirable experience

Experience as an Architectural SME for end-to-end voice solution designs and services

Experience developing and leading technical teams to implement an innovative communication solution

Communication Level is executive facing at the VP level or higher

Holds at least one patent in the communications space

Published two (2)+ Industry specific white papers

Certified or has proven experience in FedRamp, NIST, HITrust, or SoC II compliance

Published or provided a significant contribution to a technology related white paper

Experience writing, and leading RFPs for Technology based solutions or services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
