Senior Technician Job at Raymond James Financial
This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect candidates to be in the office 2-3 days a week at one of the following Corporate Office locations: St. Petersburg or Southfield.
Job Summary
Working with the Technology Education team, this Senior Technology Trainer develops and delivers education on Raymond James’ technology applications used by the field both in-person and virtually. This position will support key rollouts to the field to manage education plans, provide education for branch-used systems, and support the development teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption strategies are instituted for their technology solutions. Works with the business to develop, plan and implement strategies designed to build and improve individual and team performance through the utilization of technology. They will have extensive contact with internal customers and technology functional areas to assess needs and recommend learning solutions. This role requires travel (ranging from 30 – 35%) to field offices and regional based events to deliver interactive technology workshops.
- Conduct professional interactive distance learning, custom, and in-person classes on Raymond James’ Technology
- Conduct needs analysis and creation of education and development solutions for branch associates, management, advisory teams and other highly visible audiences
- Create impactful and engaging education and presentation materials via multiple platforms (ex, PowerPoint, Photoshop)
- Work collaboratively with other education groups
- Maintain knowledge of systems and make updates as necessary to education materials
- Create instructor and classroom materials (course outlines, facilitator guides, student materials and training aids) to provide high-quality, consistent content across a variety of formats.
- Model effective uses of appropriate instructional technology and practices in the classroom and online

Knowledge of
- Concepts, practices and procedures in needs analysis, program design and adult learning theory
- How to apply adult learning principles effectively in education
- The financial industry, products, policies and procedures.
- Conducting needs analyses to create educational solutions.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and practices.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply concepts.
- Delivery of training via in-person workshops, online and/or individual consultations
- Utilize and learn complex technology in a rapidly changing environment
- Design and develop engaging and professional training content using instructional design principles and practices
- Communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Present materials effectively and confidently via multiple mediums (online, in-person, written) for large and small audiences
- Work independently or as a team toward achieving results; manage time appropriately to accomplish responsibilities; self-motivated to pursue solutions to complex issues
- Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message
- Make internal and external clients and their needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships
- Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remain current with developments and trends in areas of expertise
- Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals
- Diplomatically deal with fellow employees and situations throughout the company
- B.S. in Finance, Education, or Computer Science, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of corporate learning and development experience is preferred.
- Both in-person and virtual training
- Managing education plans
- Cross-collaborating with technology development teams on successful implementation and adoption strategies
- SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied
- Series 7 required or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
Travel Required: 30-35% (field office visits, conferences and events)
