Position Overview

The Shipping & Receiving fork lift operator is a critical manufacturing position at PPC Industries. This position is designed for a highly experienced and knowledgeable employee. The Shipping & Receiving fork lift operator is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, warehousing all raw materials and finished goods. A successful forklift operator will take care not to damage any of the material in their care.

Essential Job Functions

• All safety,ISO,GMP and Product Safety regulations must be followed.
• Responsible for daily inspection and documenting of forklifts
• Keep all work areas clean / organized
• Unload incoming boxed resin, packaging materials and other items, placing them into the storage in the warehouse in appropriate locations
• Verify all incoming product to insure delivery matches the bill of lading and product is in good condition
• Prepare outgoing Finished Goods for Shipment by removing from inventory via the inventory scanners and staging in the designated shipping area
• Prepare and load scrap shipments as needed
• Assist with the re-palletizing of finished goods found to be non-conforming or damaged by Shipping and Receiving personnel during handling before shipment
• Assure outgoing product is properly wrapped, secured to the pallet and clean of dirt and debris
• Shrink wrap finished goods and band when necessary
• Store finished goods in proper locations in the warehouse
• Responsible for the storage and restocking of designated materials
• Organize and restock cartons and other packaging materials in warehouse
• Identify noncompliant trucks for outbound freight
• Follow the procedures for inspection and sealing of all shipments
• Ability to train junior employees on shipping functions
• Other duties as assigned

Non-essential Job Functions

• Assist Material Handlers to clear product backlogs as needed
• Participate in quarterly and year-end inventory activities as needed

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate a fork lift according to PPC guidelines
• Ability to work weekends if needed
• Willingness to listen and learn through on the job training from the shipping supervisor and peers.
• Forklift certification required. (Provided By PPC)

Other Skills/Abilities

• Ability to use computers, scanners, the shrink wrapper, and banding guns
• Ability to visually inspect pallets for defects
• Strong bilingual abilities preferred
