NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range


$65,300 - $107,800

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like


Service Management team. Service Management is a set of organizational capabilities for enabling value for customers in the form of services.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work within a technical team of IT professionals to perform application administration activities on the IT Service Management suite of tools
  • Provide end-to-end service management, managing the work leveraging an Agile project management approach

The selected applicant can be a virtual worker located in any U.S. State or District of Columbia. Regular or periodic travel to your assigned work location may be required.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related fiel; or equivalent (AS + 4 years or no degree + 8 years)
  • Experience configuring and administering an IT Service Management Suite of tools (BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, etc)
  • Experience managing an O&M ticket queue
  • Experience with ITIL
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance

Qualifications We Desire

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a constantly changing environment
  • Strong teamwork and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • ITIL certification
  • Experience with ITSM Suite (Change, Incident, Knowledge, CMDB and/or Problem Management)
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management configuration management database (CMDB) and related discovery/service mapping tools
  • Experience in ITSM training, including training program/content development
  • Understands basic testing procedures to assess and manage risk
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes
  • Experience in leading business requirements elicitation

Security Clearance

Position Information


This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
