Sound good? (We think so, too!) Here’s what you would do:

  • Oversee parent/child family groups.
  • Attend participant planning meetings.
  • Responsible for providing excellent customer service to participants, program registration, providing general program information & responding to program calls.
  • Develop program formats and provide updated schedule of events.
  • Assist in planning adventure club events.
  • Update the Adventure Guide website.
  • Be a liaison with volunteers and the YMCA.
  • Research camping/activity facilities and make reservations.
  • Follow up on financial payments by the participants to assure viability of program.
  • Assist with special event sign up days and camp outs.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and participants.
  • Follow and maintain standards, guidelines, objectives and goals of the YMCA of San Diego County.
  • Maintain a professional manner with staff and the community.
  • Participate as a team player to ensure that the YMCA image and mission statement are upheld.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in alignment with the YMCA 4 core values

“OK, I’m sold!” What do I need to qualify?

  • Two to three years of programming experience
  • Proficient in all MS Office programs
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours
  • This position requires the ability to sit, stand and in-put on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification required prior to working with participants and must be from one of the following certifying organization: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute
  • Must have visual, physical, and auditory ability to act swiftly in emergency situations
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:
    • American Red Cross
    • American Heart Association
    • American Safety & Health Institute
