Department Overview

The Enterprise Data Governance Office (EDGO) defines expectations and provides challenge on data management, governance and risk mitigation activities in support of TD’s data strategy. We focus on proactively understanding the rapidly evolving data landscape, including TD’s investments in data, changing industry practices, customer expectations and the regulatory environment in which we operate. The Senior Analyst, Testing (US) supports the development of risk policies and standards that are aligned to the evolution of the data strategy for TD, as well as the execution of a second line of defense testing function of controls and compliance reporting. The successful candidate will work with partners in Risk Management and other second line of defense stakeholders at various levels to drive multiple varying objectives, and will work with businesses and corporate functions as they develop strategies for closing data management compliance gaps.

Job Description

Purpose of the Job:
The EDGO Risk Analyst/Senior Analyst is responsible for a broad range of analysis and oversight while acting as a subject matter expert on a range of data risk related matters surrounding Testing.
Depth & Scope:
Key Accountabilities
  • Seasoned professional requiring substantial in-depth knowledge / expertise in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management & governance
  • Interprets internal / external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Independently manages end-to-end functional programs
  • Solves or leads others to solve complex problems; leads efforts or partners with others to develop new solutions
  • Communicates difficult concepts; converts information into compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders
  • Works autonomously as the lead and guides others within area of expertise
  • Executes the timely testing and monitoring of businesses and corporate functions for compliance to EDGO standards; analyzes testing results and communicates them to EDGO and business stakeholders
  • Assists in the development of policies and standards aligned to data strategy and emerging risks as well as the tools, templates, and repositories that enable the implementation of policies and standards
  • Leverages testing results to proactively determine emerging needs within the business and corporate functions
  • Develops and maintains robust reporting that can be tailored for different audiences outlining testing results
  • Utilizes a tracking, mitigation, and reporting process for issues resulting from external regulators, internal audit findings, self-identified audit issues, or independent testing findings to bring those issues to an on-time closure.

Requirements

Education & Experience:
  • Expert level professional requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in the area(s) of risk management and/or data management & governance
  • Acts as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others
  • Experience in developing policies, standards and templates
  • Ability to research and gain in-depth understanding of significant, complex and/or large scale businesses
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills with a focus on negotiation and collaboration
  • Leads projects of moderate to complex risk and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs
  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders
  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills with a focus on negotiation and collaboration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational, prioritization skills, and ability to multitask is a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to learn quickly about new business & functional areas
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
  • Flexibility and change leadership skills are required

  • Root cause analysis
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, SharePoint and/or Microsoft Lists
  • Knowledge in PowerBI, Python or Tableau (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines and adapt to change in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • College / University and /or equivalent work experience in the banking or management consulting industry
  • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
