Occ Summary
A Central Sterile Processing Technici an,Non-Certified is responsiblefor cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection ofall reusable medical instrumentation. Main tainshighstandardsconsistency and continuous product flow between the OR andSterileProcessing. Responsible formaintaining adequate supply levels insterile storage area, rotating stock as appropriate pulling case cart sforthe daily surgical schedule.
Work Performed
Clean s,decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays andequipment fol lowing established traylists and manufacture'srecommendations.Maintains communication with customers and departments regardingrequests and deliv eryof sterile supplies.Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitm entto quality patientcare.Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a state of survey readinessand maintain quality initiatives. For example q uality control measures,emergency equipment checks, and department clean liness.Uses the computerized instrument tracking system in the performan ceofassigned duties, obtaining instrument count sheets, obtaining specia lhandling instructions for instrumentation documenting sterilizationload s, and other assigned tasks.Adheres to unit programs to support patientc are such as maintaining aquiet environment and customer service.Efficien tand punctual distribution of case carts, equipment, and statsuppliestot he OR and Maintain sterility and or cleanliness accordingto hospitalprotocol.Maintain accurate log for equipment out for repair.Tests operationa l efficiency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessingand reports problem s to appropriate leadership.Maintains a clean and orderly central proces sing area (e.g. shelves,counters, equipment)Performs other relatedduties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Employees hired before 2/18/19 are not required to have high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Previous experience working in a healthcare environment preferred. Working knowledge of computer required. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and care/cleaning strongly preferred; knowledge of sterile techniques preferred.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Certification in Sterile Processing and/or Technology required within 2 years of hire date -CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (IAHCSMM). Employees hired before 2/18/2019 are not required to obtain certification.
