AbilityPath and Via West are hiring a Summer Camp Kitchen Assistant for our camp for children and adults with disabilities!

The Kitchen Assistant prepares and serves meals, prepares and clean the dining hall, washes dishes, and provides other kitchen and dining support.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Summer commitment is June 5th - August 18th, 2023

Summer stipend is $5,000; apply by 2/13/23 and if hired, you will receive an early sign-on bonus of $250
Interviews for this position will be scheduled starting in January.
Early Application Bonus: Apply by 1/31/23 and if hired, you will receive a $100 in your first paycheck.


Job Duties:

  • Assist in gathering appropriate ingredients, utensils, and equipment for preparing food for meals
  • Assist in preparation of meals
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dish room
  • Assist in serving meals to groups of 40+
  • Assist in keeping kitchen supplies and food organized

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum experience and qualifications:
  • at least 18 years of age*

Other desirable experience and qualifications:
  • Previous experience working at a residential camp
  • Previous experience working in catering or other food service
  • A legal requirement to work at camp


HIRING REQUIREMENTS
:

  • Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Verification of occupational physical clearance
  • Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age or job permit clearance
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination + first booster
  • Verification of eligibility to work in the US

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

  • Ability to be on your feet for extended lengths of time also involves walking on uneven terrain throughout the day.
