Your Impact:

Jacobs Technology provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Launch Services programs.
  • Perform daily contamination control specialist cleaning duties with fellow team members.
  • Support in the implementation of Jacob's Beyond Zero Safety Culture.
  • Must keep clean room processing areas, labs, and maintenance areas in a clean and orderly condition - perform heavy cleaning and routine cleaning duties using IPA and DI water solutions, as required floor stripping and waxing, and removal of trash and recycle cardboard materials.
  • Must be able to operate cleaning equipment to include vacuum cleaners, buffers, and floor scrubbers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including routine maintenance activities.
Here’s What You’ll Need:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications and Internet browsers.
  • Must be able to work at heights to include working on portable ladders.
  • Must be knowledgeable of cleaning processes and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) needed for the use of industrial cleaning products.
  • Bending and light lifting required.
  • Prior experience performing clean room or facility cleaning in close proximity to space flight hardware, prior training and certifications are preferred.

Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
  • Will be required to climb stairs.
  • Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical requirements are: sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
  • Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.

Work Environment
  • Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
  • Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
  • Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
  • All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
Equipment and Machines
  • Vacuum Cleaners, hand held scrubbers, Floor scrubbers, other types of cleaning equipment as required
  • Computers and printers used for producing reports and schedules.

Attendance
  • Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday(excluding Saturday & Sunday).
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Occasional overtime is required to meet demanding schedule.
  • Shift work may be required.

Other Essential Functions
  • Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.
  • Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
