GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Survey Manager for our Jacksonville or Orlando offices. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible work schedules. The successful candidate will be a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) in Florida or have the ability to obtain this license within 6 months of hire.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversight and management of survey crews and survey processing
  • Development and management of mapping and legal descriptions – Right of Way Engineering and Location Route Survey Plats
  • Pursuit and management of projects with local clients
  • Meeting with clients, architects, engineers, and other design personnel to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • This position will require some minor travel and overnight work on rare occasions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position will manage Survey Crew staff members including office technical staff.

Job Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree (Surveying or related) from a program accredited by ABET. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) certification preferred.
  • Ability to sign and seal legal documents
  • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple survey projects and/or tasks concurrently is required.
  • Strong communication skills are required, including verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong relationship management and leadership skills are required
  • Travel to project sites throughout Florida is required, with occasional overnight stays (1-2 times per month approximately).

Skills:

  • Computer Skills – Windows 10, Office 365, Internet software, GIS Mapping, and other systems and software deemed relevant to the position.
  • Project scheduling and management skills are required
  • The ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills are required

The successful candidate will be expected to push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, and lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs., with or without accommodations, routinely. The position also requires walking, climbing, stooping, hiking over uneven and rugged terrain and within construction project sites. This position will be exposed to outside weather conditions routinely.
