What does Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) do?

SI&T integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions
and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.

The Strategic Missile Defense and Advanced Weapons (SMD & AW) Department within the Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) Directorate is searching for a Section Leader to join our team. The SMD & AW Department provides systems engineering, integration, and test expertise to many of the products and the integration onto their platforms within Raytheon Missiles and Defense. The Section Leader opportunity is specific to the Strategic Missile Defense mission area in Tucson, AZ.

As a Section Leader, the candidate will be expected to actively participate in the Weapons and Platform Center leadership team goals and initiatives, support hiring, support program staffing, provide employee feedback and mentoring, and be actively involved in daily program operations. Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Lead a diverse team of engineers.
• Establish meaningful and measurable goals and communicate effectively with the team.
• Oversee the direct line management activities for the section including communication, performance management, career development, and talent acquisition.
• Collaborate and communicate with other sections and teams.
• Support department and directorate level initiatives.
• Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Oversight of personnel issue resolution.
• Timecard approvals.
• Adhere to and ensure alignment to Raytheon Technologies Values and Behaviors.
• Work as a technical lead or individual contributor; Section Leader duties account for approximately 15% of the employee’s time.

Qualification You Must Have:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of prior experience in Systems Engineering (SE) and/or System Integration, Verification and Validation (SIV&V) OR an advanced degree in a STEM field and five (5) years of prior experience in SE and/or SIV&V.

• Experience with the Performance Development process.
• Experience working in a matrix environment.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar budget tracking system
• Experience with Raytheon’s Proposal Capture Process (development of Basis of Estimates, etc.)
• Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process
• Can effectively manage projects and a diverse team.
• Experience in implementing business and program improvements through process improvement methodologies.
