JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for strategic
Information services planning including JCAHO and departmental budgeting
Departmental needs assessments
Development of request for proposals, system selections, and project management
Responsible for daily operations consisting of
Overseeing the general operation of the assigned systems, including the following:
installation
operation
backup/recovery
performance
reporting
training
overall user satisfaction
upgrades
database maintenance
data integrity
Technical and functional expertise to the operations staff on all assigned systems
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate degree with course work in business, management and information systems. Additional course work preferred.
Licensure: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred
Experience: A minimum of three years of hospital information systems project management, system selection, installation and operations experience in a dynamic and service oriented organization; Work experience with shared and in-house systems (preferably Siemens applications and Compaq, IBM, and Dell hardware, GE applications and networks); Work experience with microcomputers and an understanding of microcomputer application and networking software. Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) would accept an equivalent combination of education and experience providing the candidate possesses the knowledge and abilities required by the position.
Skills: A highly motivated, detail and service oriented individual that can accurately set priorities, work effectively with minimal direction in a job environment in which he/she is looked to for creative leadership, and possesses precise written and verbal communication, problem solving, organizational and technical skills; A technical and functional understanding of hospital and related information systems that will allow credibility in the eyes of hospital and HHCS management, end users, Information Services personnel, consultants and vendors; Project management skills necessary to identify installation tasks and responsibilities and manage new system implementations, upgrades, and conversions; Administrative, operational and technical skills necessary to properly identify justify and fulfill departmental automation requirements; Ability to work with and utilize to the best advantage the Hamilton Health Care System representatives of various vendors and consultants; A mature individual with a strong sense of organization and the ability to develop long range plans while maintaining control over current projects.

The individual must be able to

effectively establish and update priorities and exercise accurate judgement during high stress and peak workload periods,
communicate effectively with management, members of the staff, system users, consultants and vendors in order to complete their
to lift, transport and install computer equipment
maintain a flexible schedule required in order to accommodate on-call and other responsibilities.
Typical office/information systems environment, subject to frequent interruptions and heavy deadline requirements. The employee frequently is working with sensitive and confidential patient and business information.
