Systems Analyst - Intermediate (Remote) Job at UPMC
UPMC Community Care Behavioral Health has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Systems Analyst – Intermediate to support the IT Engineering team within the Management Information Systems Department!
The Systems Analyst - Intermediate will work daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with the option to work either in a fully remote capacity or in a hybrid work structure! Qualified candidates from remote regional or US locations are welcome to apply!
Under the general direction of the management team and senior Management Information Systems staff, the Systems Analyst- Intermediate provides basic analytical and/or programming services, defining requirements and developing and/or maintaining applications and systems, while providing services to meet client IT and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Application Upgrades and Implementation:
- Review and validate the functionality of application upgrades and implementations.
- Report back on any problems.
- Identify new functionality and/or hardware requirements, as assigned.
- Ability to create test plans.
- Vendor Relationships:
- Interact with vendors (technical issues, project initiatives) under the direction of more experienced team members, as necessary.
- Assist with issue escalation where applicable.
- End User Training:
- Develop documentation, training syllabus, and conduct training for business users.
- Create and review existing training documentation.
- Facilitate high-level user training sessions independently.
- Communication:
- Interview stakeholders, either independently or with Project Lead, to gather and document functional business requirements.
- Ensure that requirements are understood by the application development team.
- Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day-to-day work and projects.
- System Integration:
- Complete assigned tasks related to system integration.
- Validate testing.
- Use these test cases to verify application functionality.
- Track all defects found, using existing procedures, and work with developers to verify all defects are resolved.
- Ability to modify existing test plans.
- Project Support:
- Track and report project statuses.
- Create and contribute to project tasks and milestones.
- Update all project management and time-tracking tools accordingly.
- Documentation:
- Complete documentation/flow charting of system builds and maintain team's existing documentation independently.
- Responsible for validating current documentation.
- Extract and document customer/business requirements and needs for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams (network, system, and software).
- Successfully completes projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach.
- Works in collaboration with team and offers feedback, where appropriate, to complete individual and group efforts.
- Shows the ability to adjust and be flexible to change by adapting approach when necessary.
- Self-Development:
- Responsible for continuous self-study, trainings, partnering with more senior members of team, and/or seeking out opportunities to broaden scope to stay up to date with industry and organizational trends.
- Seeks feedback from senior team members for development and effectively incorporates feedback into work and behaviors.
- Typically has 2+ years of experience with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience.
- Basic SQL knowledge preferred.
- Highly driven and self-motivated to meet expectations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
- Ability to communicate efficiently with all levels of staff highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of information technology fundamental tools and concepts (SDLC), and applies that understanding to make independent practical contributions to IT work within the UPMC department or function.
- Experience in an Agile development environment, particularly in the creation of User Stories, preferred.
- Completes ongoing training on-the-job, through courses, self-study, certifications, and/or advanced degrees to maintain and enhance technical and business capabilities.
