Organizational Summary

Central Human Resources (CHR) provides USF with strategic development including policies, procedures, and programs for the core HR functions, which includes USF Health and the campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee. CHR supports the goals, vision, and mission of USF, with a focus on delivering valuable, innovative, and compliant services that attract, develop, reward, and retain highly qualified individuals to create a diverse and talented workforce. Services and programs provided by CHR include: Benefits; Classification & Compensation; Employee Relations; Labor Relations; Talent Acquisition; Strategic Planning; Staff Recognition; Compliance; HR Information Systems; and Talent Development.

CHR has embarked on a multi-year transformation initiative to provide a Human Resources function that operates efficiently and effectively, leverages up-to-date tools, and embraces technology to create greater value-add services and programs for the USF community.


Position Summary

The Talent Management Consultant will provide a high-level of talent advising and succession planning within USF. This role will focus on providing strategic consultation to department leaders that will allow them to achieve results through their people.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Utilizes the 9-box talent review tool to measure employee performance and identify employees with potential.
  • Facilitates strategic consultation services to department leaders while managing the overall delivery of talent services throughout the University.
  • Acts as an advisor to senior leaders on organizational effectiveness in achieving results through existing talent workforce.
  • Educates leaders on how to develop and retain critical top talent.
  • Builds a reputation as a trusted advisor to leaders.
  • Uses data analytics and reporting to advise and guide senior leaders on effective and insightful decision-making.
  • Coaches and develops professionals at all levels of the organization by leading challenging conversations and interactions.
  • Measure and track talent solutions and development efforts for individuals or groups of senior leaders.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and two years of HR related experience; or Master's degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program. Six years of HR-related experience or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
