Tax Manager – Small Business Clients

Our Tax Manager is critical to our business and this role will support our North Smithfield, RI location and the clients in that area. As a key member of the team, you will be instrumental in helping us deliver excellent service to our clients by working with them on an ongoing basis in the area of tax to support them in making sound business decisions, as well as partnership on their tax planning, projections, salary projections and annual preparation for the small business owner. This role requires the ability to be a dedicated tax professional to work with a large volume of small business clients throughout the year to plan, project and prepare their annual tax returns, all with a commitment to an elevated client experience. What Will You Do? Our newest team member will be responsible for the below, but not limited to:

• Work with a great group of client accounts from month to month in support of the tax planning.
• Prepare and review tax filings (S-Corp, LLC, 1040) for the small business owners’ corporate and individual needs.
• Facilitate client meetings for tax consultation; support clients with ongoing tax planning & projections.
• Develop long-standing relationships with clients through a high level of client service interactions.
• Plan, supervise and review client engagement/tax project work.
• Identify opportunities within client base to expand services; partner with Sales team to share upsell opportunities for presenting new solutions that result in client growth & satisfaction.
• Resolution of client issues as needed.
• Lead team members as needed and directed.
• Partner with internal team members to support any financial planning for clients.

Where Will You Work? Our Tax Manager role will operate in a hybrid environment:

• Is located in North Smithfield, RI and operates in a hybrid working environment (office 3 days/remote 2 days)

What Do You Bring to Us? Our key attributes for consideration include:

• Bachelor’s degree; in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA or Enrolled Agent designation strongly desired and highly preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of recent experience in tax accounting.
• Experience in corporate tax returns for S-Corps, LLCs, and Partnerships; ability to complete business owners’ personal returns is important too!
• Previous leadership experience of managing team for at least 1-3 years highly preferred.
• Previous experience working with multiple clients at once; small business accounting experience is highly preferred and will be prioritized.
• Experience directly interacting with clients through a variety of communication channels. Previous experience presenting, explaining, and discussing financial reports with clients.
• Exemplary business communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and handle conflicting demands; exceptional in organizing own work.
• Strong attention-to-detail with a focus on always delivering quality while meeting deadlines.
• Solid knowledge of all Microsoft applications with emphasis on word-processing, high-level Excel skills, Power Point and Outlook.
• QuickBooks experience required.
• US Work Authorization is required.
