Position Description
We are seeking a smart, hard‐working and motivated Technical Sales Lead with a focus on Food & Beverage to join our growing team. The individual in this role will assist company growth and profitability through new customer acquisition, as well as by increasing current customer spend by acquiring and assessing new opportunities, estimating, developing proposals, and presenting proposals. This role requires personal drive, persistence, good communication, attention to technical details, and business strategy expertise. We are considering both office‐based and remote candidates.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university. Engineering degree preferred.
- A sound level of technical comprehension to include an understanding of individual and integrated food production unit operations for processing and packaging.
- 5+ years in Food & Beverage industry Sales or related technical role. Experience in sales at the corporate level preferred.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and e-mail. Experience with CRM systems is a plus.
- The new team member should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
- Proficient in time management and personal organization.
- Travel required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Technical-based sales.
- Develop relationships with prospective customers, while maintaining/ expanding existing customer relationships.
- Work with InLine team to engage, quote, and win capital projects.
- Work with customer layout drawings to help optimize and offer preliminary solutions to customer problems; may include travel to customer locations to obtain site details (scope development.)
- Respond to RFPs / verbal requests, while adhering to customer procurement processes.
- Work with 3rd party vendors for preliminary equipment designs/quotes.
- Put together equipment/service costing sheets with desired margins.
- Work closely with internal technical teams to develop a thorough offering and a competitive advantage. Help create contract-winning proposals.
- Be able to convey a systematic approach and our technical deliverables to assist customers in the development and execution of their capital projects.
- Present capabilities to prospects, document contacts and sales calls.
- Generate new leads with the intention of creating more sales/revenue.
