JOB SUMMARY:

The controls technician will be overseeing all aspects of the plants electrical controls systems, equipment, and machinery. Responsible for technical support of PLC-based hardware and software. This individual will be working closely with the controls engineers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist maintenance in troubleshooting down production equipment

2. Robot recovering and programming (ABB preferred)

3. Improve equipment uptime and process reliability

4. Read, modifies, and trouble PLC programs (Allen-Bradley and Siemens)

5. Performs and maintains back-ups

6. Assist in training plant maintenance regarding technical subjects related to the controls of the equipment

7. Responsible to plan and execute upgrades and continues improvements activities.

8. Support the implementation of Industry 4.0 and Captor systems

9. Develop improvement suggestions to improve plant performance, equipment reliability and uptime

10. Assist in creation of and performs preventative and predictive maintenance activities

11. Ability to work in a team as well as independently work on assignments

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. 1 year of relevant work experience required.

3. Associates degree in a related discipline preferred or 5 plus years equivalent experience and education

4. Required to have a strong knowledge of PLC’s (Allen Bradley)

5. Knowledge of robotics (ABB) preferred. Experience of HMI programming: RS Logic and Studio 5000

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Must be able to work at heights, working on overhead cranes, and able to work in tunnels and pits.

2. Must have strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.

3. Electrical 12 volt dc to 600 volt ac basic working knowledge.

4. Basic carpenter skills, painting, repair drywall, ceiling work, build offices;

5. Problem Solving – Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of the machine and recognize and solve quality problems of formed part.
